My husbands dream jno.  And I had hoped to do that too.  I have been told  now that there won't be any improvenment to my back or joints and they wdarent operate, so I'm stuck here.  Basically because I would not want to travel and be overseas and unwell away from home.  I just would be anxious all the time.  I hate being disabled.  I just can't accept it.

sorry to hear it, Countrylover. The barges are mostly downstairs but there's at least one accessible cabin on the entry level. We went by Eurostar too, so no faffing about with planes and airports. But perhaps trickier getting on and off excursion coaches.

Jno my travelling days are over.  I shouldn't complain because we've travelled a lot.  Mr L is content to stay at home as long as he's got some land, a woodpile and open countryside around him.  Oh and cats and dog!

I don't know if my travelling is over, Countrylover, I've been waiting since September for a hernia op so I can walk for more than 15 minutes at a time without hurting. And that's going private! But like you I've done a lot so I can't be too tearful about it. I always wanted to visit Tibet but I don't know that I could ever have managed the altitude, with or without hernia.

I think our travelling days, mostly, are over. Neither of us has any inclination to travel abroad, except for visiting family in Sweden and Finland, which were both looking forward to doing, by car, this year, we love a road trip 🙂
