I saw a trailer on a Chanel last week about energy companies trying to persuade people to have smart meters .

I think it said the programme is on today . I also believe it's not one of the terrestrial channels .

Anyone got any info which Channel it's on ?

Thanks SharonA

By the way , did you ever get round to trying a garlic base pizza?

The government and supply companies are continually extolling how fantastic smart meters are, trying to get everyone to have them fitted.

If this program highlights all the problems people are having, the government’s smart meter install target will never be met.

As of March 2023, 9% of smart meters were not working properly – and if you think your energy supplier is going to come out quickly and fix your meter, you are living on another planet.

There have been a limited number of smart meter horror stories in the press, where people have been cut off or massively overcharged; I wonder what the main thrust of this programme will be.

My smart meter stopped working years ago.

I'm still waiting for a replacement.

Money Mail (last week) had a huge article about the "negatives" of smart meters...including them not working - but the suppliers just don't want to know, because they're trying to fulfil their quota of initial fittings. After that, nobody cares!

They spy on us, give us rashes and make us pregnant, these smart meters.

They also encourage ghosts.

I had to wait three Months for an Engineer to come look at them, and for them to be working again, they weren't transmitting info. Only way I could top up was the old way card to the shop get receipt then key in the vend code. The gas being the biggest pain being outside in the reather chille weather keying in a twenty digit code.

However it's the first time i've had any trouble with them for over ten years.

Bazile, I am sorry to confess I didnt. I will & want to. Where do you buy yours????

Sharon - we have our pizza  made to order at the pizza counter in Asda .

You simply choose the type and size of the base - then choose what you want spread on your base ( tomatoe / garlic / barbecue ) - then add your toppings .

I suppose you can buy garlic paste if you're making the pizza yourself

Thanks for that. I will be checking out my Asda counter this weekend.

Of course the Fascist Government wants them - they just adore surveilance.

I've got one and don't use the in home display. It's never shown anything useful as I changed supplier.

However I'm very glad I have a smart meter. It allows me to have very cheap electricity from midnight until 5am to charge my car, and half price electricity every Sunday from 11am until 4pm.

Any suggestion it means I am under surveillance is frankly ludicrous.

Indeed, Hopkirk, anyway I'm off to use my supermarket loyalty cards now right after I ask Alexa a couple of question about CCTV on my high street, dashcams and doorbell cameras and how the impact caged songbirds.

Hoppy, which gas company are you with?

Barsel my meter is for electric. I always have to submit meter reading. I guess mine is faulty.

British Gas

I was asking because I know of someone who gets free or perhaps cheap electricity on a Sunday, and she is with British Gas.
