Arthur the Scot?

A new book, which was apparently well researched, suggests that not only was King Arthur real, but also from Scotland. Any truth in this do you think???

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Certainly the makers of the latest film suggest that he came from the Borders area and there are some academics who support this. We will never know for sure because so many of the stories around Arthur are mythical. But, on my basic knowledge of the history of these isles, I'm not sure that there was a clear disctinction in those days between England and Scotland and to call him a Scot would be as wrong as calling him an Englishman.
