Overcoats
Are the royals the only people in the UK to wear overcoats?
I never see anyone else wearing one. Just askin'

I also have a traditional Burberry for the rain. Most of my clothes are classic cut.
My wife has a variety of coats, mainly classic.
My expat relatives living in mainland Spain really feel the cold in the Spanish winters. When we visit we are wearing summer clothes and they are wrapped up - I suppose the difference between summer and winter temperatures is great and they feel it. The Spanish are also wearing winter coats, especially the older ones.
It's down to fashion naturally but also affordability.
Many of us go to a supermarket or reasonably priced chain store for a new coat. Unless you can get one in a charity shop or in the sale at a department store, I imagine a tailored coat would be beyond most people's means now.
Yes it's mostly royalty, lawyers and older actors who wear them.
