My wife has not been very well

Her legs are not too steady

I have to carry her down the stairs

To get me breakfast ready.

Not Bernard Manning, Roy. As far as I remember, it was John Howarth from the Oldham Tinkers. I was at one of their concerts back in the 70's and he told it then. I suspect BM nicked it from him.

My favourite brew doesn't exist, Hazlinny, as I rarely drink alcohol. A nice thought though!
