Such a short word to mispronounce but I've just found out I've managed to.  How do you say it?

It's ay-gyew, as in the Shakespearean character Sir Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night

It's obviously a two syllable thing to those of us that studied twelfth night at school.

Sir Andrew Aguecheek was the characters name I think.

Ayg grew as per

Ay gyew for me too.

Forget my first answer!

I've never heard of it lol!

I don't think you should ague about it.

Do any of us actually ever say this word out loud? The only time i ever see this word is in crosswords and i've certainly never heard anyone say it.

As I said earlier, my family has always used it in a jokey way when someone is exaggerating a cold.  He's got the ague

I'd say agg-yew.

aygew - never thought of it any other way

cf - Sir Andrew Aguecheek (Twelfth Night)

I've never used that word and I've never known anyone who did.

'Fever'does the trick

"I get an ague that's so hard to bear
You give me ague"

Hmmm...

No-one tried Gin and Ague-tree tonic?

the 12th night fella is

aig-cheek isnt it?

Don't be vague, ask for Haigue.

What did Shakey know anyway?
