Do you have a childhood comfort food,one that you still get real satisfaction from eating

Marmite

Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup

Heinz Sandwich Spread

 Mum used to make a fabulous broth with dumplings . We put the dumplings on one side and then ate them with syrup .

When I was a kid i loved raspberry ripple Ice cream from Mr Whippy, i vaguely remember asking for broken wafers +cones! Cant think why! 🤔

I also have fond memories of my Scottish grannies apple pie, to die for! Quite a few of us used to bake cakes but we could make an apple pie like hers!!

Just realised that all my comfort food as a child onwards has been savoury!  

If I was ill I always was given haddock with mashed potatoes, parsley sauce and peas and it's still a favourite.

Cabbage and ribs was a favourite for me, as was steak suet pudding, mince pie (not xmas ones, beef mince) then madeira cake, all home made by my mother, rest her soul.

You can still get Liver sausage,and all the other ingredients for my bizarre(yes,I admit it is) sandwich.
