Has anyone used one of these recording studios? I'm in the market for upgrading from my 15-year old 4track tape recorder and the Zoom looks like it's packed full of loveliness. I generally record guitar but also sing and dabble in keyboards.

How good is the sound quality? Are the drums/bass/effects up to standard? How easy is the whole unit to use? It's very keenly priced just now (sub 500 WITH CD burner) and I'm VERY tempted!

I was considering one, too. You might find this review helpful.

Thanks for that, rojash.

I've already seen that review and that's half the reason I'm looking at the Zoom. Got a review from Future Music as well which sold it pretty well. It's just that I've never used a digital multitracker before so no matter which one I go for, it'll be 1000 times better than my old analogue 4track! But when I'm spending a decent amount of money, I still want to get the RIGHT one.

It does look pretty untouchable for the price though!

I have a zoom 8 track with sd card and a 1608 they are incredible peices of kit and the cd's ability is incredible..you will have to buy a extra usb socket if yiu want to plug it into your computer use your 4 track as well the possibilites are endless..and there is a fantastic users site for zoom people..i record classic guitar for fun and make meditation cds for a living using these tools..regards
