Okay, Spyros.

They can get dressed before putting their prosthetic on.

18:39 so what did you find?

I know a chap who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident. He often wears shorts, not because he wants to draw attention to himself but for the simple reason his prosthetic leg often malfunctions and he has to, excuse the pun, carry out running repairs. Trousers have to be removed to gain access, shorts don't, he carries a small tool case everywhere.

T3. Do you have no empathy at all? What a horrible, sneering post.

Question Author

Of coursed I have empathy, if I had prosthetic legs I'd wear long trousers.

You care too much about what others think of you, TTT.

Question Author

No, I just don't draw attention to myself.

So, your empathy would stop you wearing shorts because your exposed prosthetic limb might upset other people?

You would be sensitive to other peoples' feelings by keeping your prosthetic climb covered and out of sight?

tilly: "So, your empathy would stop you wearing shorts because your exposed prosthetic limb might upset other people?" - No because I want avoid effectively saying: "Look at me I have no legs and I can still walk"

You assume other people think the same way as you.

If I see a person with a prosthetic leg, white stick, walking stick, guide dog or any type of disability I am simply aware that I need to be mindful, they may not be as agile or steady on their feet, might need more space, might need the offer of a helping hand.

barry: "You assume other people think the same way as you." - obviously I don't or I would not have started this post. The idea of prosthetics is to enable as close to a normal existance as possible.

i wonder, apart from Bmonger and this bloke you are talking of now, how many people you have actually seen with prosthetic limbs wearing shorts?
