Best Fish and Chip Shop in the World

Following on from the chips and gravy thread, where is your favourite chippy?

Mine is Duggies, Harleston, Norfolk. Followed closely by Monty's, Harleston, Norfolk. Best fish: tail of cod. The chips are lovely and golden, not those white anaemic looking lumps of hard potatoes that go all lardy.

Duggies is run by Ray, (Duggie and Monty were brothers).

Two candidates - The Dovehouse Fish Bar, Solihull, and Erimi's Kitchen, Erimi, Cyprus - though it's a hell of a long way, and the chips are cold by the time you've got them back to the UK.............

I used to like Bimbis in Toon..they were so fresh and diff tasting to anywhere else...expensive for it tho

Seahawks, Leiston, Suffolk - the full works available as it's a wet fish shop, take-away and sit down fish and chip restaurant. Marvellous.

Depends where I am! Being far from the sea, I find that the Saucy Kipper in Leytonstone is pretty darn good, but French's at Wells Next the Sea is pretty darn good if I am up there http://www.frenchs.co.uk/

I have been to Monty's in Harleston! The fish was great, but the man running it looked like his hair had been dipped in the grease!! I think he was still trying to be a teddy boy.

Ask anyone from Cardiff, and they'll tell you the best chippy is Dorothy's on Caroline Street (Chippy Alley) after the pubs close on a Saturday night - chicken curry & chips - fantastic!
