That junction has been a major source of inconvenience to me for several months. I get off the A3 there for the M25 to go to my Dorset  house via M3. Likewise to get to Oxford via M40. Even carrying staight on the A3 towards Guildford is a pain. I'll be glad to see it finished.

I’m driving to Crawley this Sunday evening and would normally take this route; I’m going to go via the Dartford crossing instead and hope the tail-back doesn’t reach the M23 (J7) turn off (some 15 miles from J10).

It’s the locals on the detour route(s) that will need to stay at home this weekend.

Even if you will be joining the M25 (at J15) via the M4, any queues should be in the opposite direction of travel – but if you want to be on the safe side, join via the M40 at J16.

Thanks, that's the way we go. My daughter is meeting us half way at Oxford to take me to her house.

That junction is a real bind and has been for years. The work has been ongoing since 2022 but its effect on traffic has ramped up in the last few months. 

I believe there will be another three or four complete closures  during this coming summer before the work is completed in the summer of 2025.

It's not actually difficult to avoid that stretch if you know where you're going locally. It will stuff up local traffic but that might not be too bad over the weekend.
