Mine is less than two years old but has to go.  I'm sure Concorde taking off didn't reach the same decibels as my ineffective piece of junk.

Apart from the noise it doesn't extract the steam, it just condensed on the hood and drips over the cooker.

I have been looking at the options and the price range is enormous.

So tell me about yours.  Would you recommend it?  Make and model would be useful if known.

I have a nice shiny one which goes well with my induction hobs and lovely oven.  They make the room look nice.

I haven't used them yet (they are only four months old).  I will have to find the instruction booklets as I am getting visitors for Easter.

I haven't used mine yet either.  But then I've only had it for 23 years 7 months.

Four months without using a hob? My mind boggles

We have got a Beaumatic I fitted a few years ago as a temporary measure until I got round to fitting a new kitchen.

It does vent outside and is the 900 wide model, for the price its ok but it is noisy at high speeds.

If yours is not venting is the outside vent ok or the filters blocked?

I use this one Barry, over an induction hob:

https://www.electriq.co.uk/p/eiqcurvisl90ss/electriq-90cm-curved-glass-island-cooker-hood-stainless-steel-5-year-warranty

It has 3 speed settings. I must admit that it's loud on the top speed. I don't spend much time lingering over the hob, so it's just on for a relatively short time. It's vented straight through the roof (the house is mostly upside-down) so it clears everything very well.

Even with the so-called 'quiet' models, there's always a trade-off between efficiency and noise level. Maybe try a low speed setting. It should still clear steam. Certainly no 'dripping'.

Put one in 15 years ago, my OH or me couldn't put up with the racket, but it looks the business :0)

I know it is pushing air outside because I am constantly pushing to fins down.

Thanks for the replies, it seems most are noisy.  I've been looking at some that claim to be quiet.

I have a Rangemaster 110 Oven with a matching Rangemaster hood. Not cheap but a good piece of kit. Not unduly loud when fans are doing their job. Vents out the kitchen wall with a flap shutter on ouside vent 2 speed extraction. Two Led lights that shine over the cooker. I reccomend them. We have had it from new for about two years . Touble free.🤞

Is it this one, retro?  It's a lot cheaper than many I've been looking at
