I have been playing the piano since I was 5 but never practiced much because my teacher was very strict and I also have autism so I can do figure things out on my own very well I also played the guitar and started flute when I was finishing High school I'm 27 now is it too hard to start working now?

In his 40s he took up guitar again & played as an amateur in local folk clubs. He took lessons and became quite proficient forming a duo called "Take Two" who recorded some CDs. He now performs in a group with his step daughter as singer as well as playing for his own enjoyment.
So - yes it is possible if you have some talent and you are prepared to work on developing it.
