Why are so many people raving about the film Saltburn?  Load of pretentious poop in my opinion.   What did you make of it?

I thought that it was quite a good story with some twists, however, I thought it was somewhat gratuitously shocking in places where it seemed to be done for the sake of it rather than having any real relevance to the story.

The screenplay was a bit dodgy but there were some very good performances even so ...

The main reason I never take another person's recommendation for a film or TV series...it's all personal opinion. I've loved things others have disliked (including professional critics) and vice versa.

As for Saltburn...on my "to view" list.

radio 4 this am - it IS all personal opinion but if your opinion is that the audience should give it a miss (esp for paying tickets) then you are bound to say so

9am - actially I was looking for the prog " and it all caved in"

I loved it.

A modern day Brideshead Revisited, with extra yucky moments. Great acting.

I've read the reviews.  Added shock value seems to be the order of the day, so pretty naff.  I won't be seeing it.

Now come on Theblip.  No holding back, say what you really mean!!

I watched this yesterday and am very undecided about it. I thought that the acting - especially Barry Keoghan - was very good but I also thought that it was gratuitously shocking in places which left me overall underwhelmed.
