The OP is asking about hot doughnuts.  Every supermarket and bakery sells cold doughnuts.

I think they are becoming a thing of the past. You do however see hot doughnut outlets at special events, the last ones I've seen were at Christmas markets. Do i like them yes, do i buy them when i see them at such events, a big fat no. The sellers seem to think that making them the size of a golf ball including the hole in the middle, and charging £5 for 5 is a good idea? its proving not to be so,I believe they've shot themselves in the foot. However not knowing the running costs of such a outlet and the cost of ingredients maybe the price reflects such a high price. But I for sure no longer think its anywhere near value for money.

Some of the rents the traders have to pay at those events are sky high.  I was disappointed that some of the usual traders were not at a bi-annual event local to me because the increase in rent meant it wasn't worth it.

Yep, landlords and land owners who put on these events need to wake up and realise that earning little and offten is a lot better than earning nothing at all. Everyone needs their share of the generated income whether renting out or trading on that rented space. It only needs one to start getting greedy to put an end to what was, or could be a value for money end product where everyone wins, trader and landlord. Once gone it stays gone in many cases.

Very true.  I'm wondering if the cost of the landlord's insurance has got anything to do with it.

Possible, but like i say it only needs one, whoever that maybe to decide on increasing their markup and it affects everyone involved up and down the ladder., and always will end in it filtering down to the end, the latter of course being the customer. The customer in the end decides if they continue to live or die.
