why does my guinea pig make weird noises?

m,y guinea pig is quite snuffly and sneezy every now and then and then sometimes is quite normal...could he be allergic to something? they are indoors so quite warm and well looked after. they also make a really strange almost choking, clearing their throat sound is this normal? sometimes it takes them by surprise and seems to scare them as their whole body reacts!!

Some guinea pigs can be allergic to hay or wood shavings, or have difficulty if their bedding is dusty. Try bedding your guinea pig on shredded newspaper for a while, and see if that makes a difference.
