Good basic information to start with:

My understanding is that as Spain is a member of the EEC there would be no bars to you either moving out to Spain to live or seeking employment there. However, unless you have a particular skill which is needed and a good working knowledge of the Spanish language you may be under-estimating your chances of making a successful transition. I guess bar work in a tourist area is always an option, but if you really want to live and work in a different country, if you're not prepared to integrate and become a virtual Spanish citizen there really isn't any point in making the move.
There is no time limit to living in spain on arvial you need to go to the spanish social securty and apply for an N.I.E number as no employer will take you on whithout it.Then there is the language most employers require that you speak spanish you could ofcourse move near to gibraltar and try your luck there as native speakers are allways in demand possibly because of low pay. Also if you are getting unemployment benifit in the uk you can transfer it to spain check with your job center. You aslso need to check about medicial cover as you have to pay into the spanish system for 6 months before you are entitled to cover.Get a european medical card that covers you for emergenies.Bar work is not good because most will only use unregistered labour so to avoid paying tax for them and the hours and pay are terible.hope this helps some.
