"Pegasus, it's good news for a tiny few, but it makes no difference to the rest of us."
Then surely when "bad news" is announced (e.g. "The UK is languishing 121st in the list of the world's exporters") then the same must apply - bad news for a few but it makes no difference to the rest of us.
However, it doesn't seem to work like that. Bad news is always greeted with accusations and blame: "It's the Tories' fault" "It's Sunaks's fault" and (especially) "It's because of Brexit".
Why is that, I wonder?
