Christmas In The Good Old Days

. . . to a delivery guy, always check that he's wearing a uniform 😊
Chris, back in 2000, we were visiting friends in Greenville, South Carolina but just short of reaching our destination, I made a wrong turn into a huge apartment complex. Looking for a way back, I was surprised to see a black and white police car approaching in the opposite direction. He put his arm out and stopped me and asked, in a southern drawl: "Ken ar heyelp yoo surr?" I said "Well, I'm slightly lost officer" He said: "Y'all from Eyngland?", to which I said, being from Manchester, in a voice similar to Noel Gallagher: "How did you guess?" Fortunately he found it funny but my point is that sat in the passenger seat was a young boy aged about 16/17 who had a stack of pizzas on his lap - I mean a stack. It went right to the roof of the car, plus there were others on the back seat. I immediately came to the conclusion that this was officer dad, driving his college-aged son on his pizza delivery round. Can you imagine the cops doing that here? 😊 Only in america.
