emule problems

i ve used limewire before which was easy to use and downloaded quickly, however i am using emule and it is very slow -(i am on 2mb b/band connection) is emule known for having slow d/load speeds as the most ive got today is 12kbp/s ?
is there a way of configuring best speeds on emule?

Well the thing is it depends, there all Peer 2 peer software, so the person your downloading from or multiple people have to have good connectionsl, I dont use Emule I use Bearshare.com and its great and free if you dont mind the banners but I pay $2/month have no banners and download all my music from there and stuff (Obviously all the music I download in not Copyrighted) ;-) thought Id get that in b4 Sony or BMI try to sue me ;-)
