Tomorrow's World
I used to enjoy this series, the weird and wonderful (and pointless and awful) inventions. I'm sure I bought a camera after seeing it featured on this show - Kodak Disk, it didn't really catch on.
I would like somebody to invent a silent vacuum cleaner (a carpet sweeper sucks) but my biggest dream would be to stand in my living room with my luggage, close my eyes and magically transport to my hotel room in Australia.
What inventions would you appreciate?

Bewdley station on the Severn Valley Railway has an old-style outdoor gents loo, which used to be at Melrose station until it closed:

Mine is quiet, davebro.
I don't get the fashion for open plan living. I don't want to be watching tv whilst my wife is grinding cofffee beans, blending smoothies, with the extractor fan running and the dishwasher churning. I don't want my living room curtains to smell of chip fat or fried bacon. I don't get it.
Ok folks, here is my idea and I know it's my own fault if someone nicks it and makes the product. My idea is to have a hand-held, electircal/battery operated device, that will open anything - cans, bottles, jars, and anything else that people find difficult to open by hand, no matter what kind of method has been used to seal the closed them. It'd be the "Swiss Army Knife" of openers!
So, get going on the task and don't forget me when the royalties start rolling in! 😊
