Speaking as a guy I have to admit that the last 20 minutes of 'Field of Dreams' (featuring Kevin Costner) always chokes me up no matter how many times I see it - my favourite ending to ANY movie. On the face of it its a fantasy film about baseball (no tears there uh?!) but in truth its about a son losing his father without ever having the chance to tell him how much he meant to him - until he has one final shot at redemption. Magical !
i have watched the railway chidren many times and think that the meeting between bobby and her father on the railway stion when he appears thro the mist is the most touching on celluloid.
i know its slushy but moments like this , et excepted, are very rare.
I can cry at anything!! I cry at 60 minute makeover when people see the results of their newly decorated bathroom!!!
Film-wise, these'll get me everytime........
But the film The Incredibles (the super hero family cgi film)... I always get a lump in my throat when Helen, the mother, is on the jet screaming in to the radio for them to call off the missles as her children are onboard. Have to mute it when that bit comes on.
But then I laugh at Edna Mole and then spend the rest of the day doing impersonations.
