Used in flower arrangements and vases in the 60s/70s particularly this is a long strong stem with leaves or flowers that are almost round, very smooth and dry, golden brown and almost translucent. Probably dried.

Does anyone know what is jiggling my brain this bedtime? It will keep me awake

Could be Honesty.

That's it! I hope I never witness a murder, my description would be useless 😂

Thanks both, don't know how you got it.

I was cutting back some hyacinths and as I was putting them in the green bin, I noticed a stem with four balls on, with curved lines like a pumpkin.  Didn't have a clue what it was but stuck it in a vase with some tulips.  When my grandson was round, I pointed it out to him and said I didn't have a clue what it was.  He had something on his phone, I think he called it lens finder (?) and he took a picture of it and it identified it as amaryllis.  If you have a mobile, might be a useful tip to identify anything you need in the future.

I do you an app that does that, Foxlee - and very good it is too!

Sadly this time the plant was only a memory in my head and as far as I know no software can access that. Give it a few years....

there are a few of them; Google Lens sounds like yours?
