Conservatory Heating

Hi all. Our conservatory is always freezing in the winter despite having a radiator. We've just had the windows replaced so that should make it better insulation-wise. Can anyone suggest an efficient but cost effective way to supplement the heating please. TIA Elaine

Radiators are worse than useless in a Conservatory.

There are some Air Conditioning systems on the market which keep your consevatory cool in the summer and warm in winter. Do you live anywhere near Bedford? If so a company called ASL install them.

We bought an electric tower heater for the winter in ours. It heats the room up in minutes and stops once it reaches a pre-set temp. If it drops below the temp it automatically restarts again. We found this much more cost effective than having the radiator in there blasting out heat.

Most of the heat loss is through the roof of the conservatory. I believe there are blinds that cover the roof area which may help.

best is a wet underfloor system, but as your cons. is obviously complete it is poss. too late. We have had ours for four years now and find it really great. Do Not fancy the electric set up
