Dougie - no I think book-burning is too.... German ( must be careful this is AB!) - 

but the extraneous point ( oo-er Mrs: I hope a mod isnt reading this) is the juxta position of ideas - Here book burning and a C19 best seller (!) Far from the Madding  Crowd. The last has ignorance, trickery, lying, reincarnation - all twenty first century realities but no book burning.

This is new for me. I first noticed that a sentence with both Prince Harry and the King in it, made me want to puke. A man who put duty and service first should be nowhere near a Californian grifter.
