How do you pronounce Laos? Google says it rhyming with "Mouse" but Adrian Dunbar, the narrator, keeps saying Laow rhyming with "how".  I say it's like google says.

TTT, sorry, I got called away. No, I'm not looking for a fight, but when I saw the heading, I thought there might be a link that would take me to perhaps see a video of the worlds most dangerous roads, so I was disappointed that you were asking how to pronounce Laos.

Apparently Turkmenistan is pronounced Fanshaw.

ta - didn't notice it was 't'here.....

I quite like good documentaries about far flun places.  Is it worth watching?

There once was an old man in Laos,
Who lived all alone in a house,

The road alongside Ulswater, that goes past The Howtown Hotel, then up to St Peters-in-Martindale Church, is steeper and a lot sharper than that in the link. Actually, it's the part after The Howtown Hotel. Scary. 😵 I was there only a few weeks ago.

In answer to the OP, I'll go with the Yanks and say Lay Oss.

You'd go with those who say Noeter Dame and revelee?

Laosy thinking. :p

These are English words - Laos as you like even like Chaos. Vietnam is meant to be Veet - but is tonal ( six to choose from Mandarin plus 2) so anyything goes there as well

The VC would flee
