That really would be the final death-knell for the Tories.

I have every regard for you, ynnafy. We disagree on a number of things, but you always put your POV robustly and, more importantly without any insults. It's important that we can disagree in that way. It's also important that neither of us is silenced.
Farage is just repeating the Trump lie that the Biden administration is behind his prosecution; the central government has no say in State prosecutions (this is a matter of fact).
I know this and I suspect Farage does too, but he is only too willing to lie on behalf of Trump.
Interestingly another thing Trump has said he would do if he is elected; fire any U.S. attorney who didn't prosecute someone he ordered them to. So we could see U. S. Attorneys being fired by Trump, or fabricating evidence against Trump’s enemies to keep their job.
If you believe having a recent criminal conviction would assist someone seeking election to the White House – you are as mad as Farage.
"If you believe having a recent criminal conviction would assist someone seeking election to the White House – you are as mad as Farage."
No - it means you have a different point of view.
But this isn't about what other people believe. This is about you referring to Mr Farage as a "swivel-eyed loon" simply on the basis that yours and his opinions do not agree.
"...it’s because his views are those of a swivel-eyed-loon."
So help me out a bit here, then.
What exacly (according to you) is a swivel-eyed loon? Who decides what views put the owner of them into that category? Is it just you? Or is it just people who think the way you do? Or is there some other qualification?
Until you can provide some reasonable answers to those questions I shall continue to believe that it is only people with whose views you disagree that you term a "swivel-eyed loon". There is no doubt that that term is insulting and highly pejorative. Is there no other way you can make your arguments against Mr Farage's views without using it?
I genuinely believe that Farage revels in being referred to as a ‘swivel-eyed-loon’ – no publicity being bad publicity.
The reason I apply this moniker (to him) is that he makes outlandish claims/statements (many of which are demonstrably false) on such topics as Brexit, immigration, Muslims Trump etc.
NJ argues that I should not be disparaging towards him just because he has differing views to me. But when someone makes false claims, they need to be called out as such (otherwise idiots will tend to believe them).
Already Trump is playing the victim in being found guilty of 34 charges of criminal conspiracy – and it is clear that some are buying into this nonsense.
At least no one in this audience seems to believe Trump to be innocent.
"NJ argues that I should not be disparaging towards him just because he has differing views to me. But when someone makes false claims, they need to be called out as such..."
You can suggest they are liars by all means (and you could do that with probably 95% of politicians). But the term you use is particularly insulting. It indicates that you believe Mr Farage is a lunatic or mentally ill. Even if he is a liar, to place such a label on him is simply rude and insulting.
"...(otherwise idiots will tend to believe them)."
Once again, people who believe him, especially when he states matters of opinion (which most of the stuff recently mentiond is) are not necessarily idiots. The may show poor judgement but more probably they simply hold a different view to you. You seem unable to tolerate this without resorting to insults and so entrenched is your intolerance that you even believe they should be silenced.
To illustrate further, you have consistently referred to more than a third of the UK electorate as "idiots" for voting to leave the EU. Many of them have more intelligence than you or I have. But because they held a different view to you (and particularly because their view prevailed in the referendum) you see fit to insult them.
Do you not see the pattern that is emerging here?
You're not alone. There are many people in this country - and across the world - who seem singularly unable to tolerate views opposing their own. That's what needs to be highlighted and I will coninue to do so every time you do it. By all means argue against Mr Farage's statements and opinions. But do so constructively and have a crack at it without resorting to insults.
