I have several questions about this drink.

1/ Where does the law stand on it? I know you can get it over here (England) but is it only allowed to be sold without wormwood in it and is there a maximum alcohol content it has to adhere to?
2/ What other countries is it availible in? Someone told me you can't get it in the U.S.
3/ Why do hardly any pubs sell it? Does anyone know of any that do?
4/ I would have thought in todays drinking culture more young people would have heard of this rather historic drink. Is it just the young people I know who've never heard of it?

You can buy it from ASDA, we get it all of the time =D
You can get it in most of our local clubs but there is a limit to how many you can buy
You can get in in Germany, not in the US, though!

I suppose since the ingredients have changed, it has lost its appeal, somehow.

In Germany you get it in varying strenghts, up to 77%
how good is absynthe! u can buy it in most clubs near us, its expensive for a shot but when you have had the day from hell n u just wanna get sloshed it does the trick!
I saw some in France, and Spain earlier this year.
I went to an Absinthe factory in France last year... you are meant to pour it over a sugar lump on a spoon to make it as sweet as you want. That stuff was so cheap over there!! And they had different strengths and flavours...
I have bought it in the UK, Tesco or Sainsbury it would have been, it is legal in the UK and very high alcoholic proof (mine was 80%). Tastes disgusting, what ever way you prepare it !!
I know a pub in Mid-Wales which has absinthe in. Not sure whether they should or not so won't name names!
