latest poll from yougov suggests that Reform are almost equal with the conservatives. if people did actually vote this way then this would mean total electoral wipeout and the party would be overtaken by the lib dems as official opposition.

if more polls indicate this kind of fate then how desperate might the tories get? could they go so far as getting rid of sunak?

Electoral calculus currently predicts the conservatives with 66 seats and lib dems with 59... and that estimate was published BEFORE nigel farage took over Reform again

things really could get very bad for the tories... i agree it is unlikely they will come third but it is not impossible. how far will they be willing to go to avoid it?

There's no avoiding democracy.

They won't change leader before the election.

The so called conservative party have bigger problems than the leader.  They need to ditch the TINO's and wets people like Cameron(unelected), China Hunt(need we say more), Cleverly (the most misnamed person ever & Shapps (or whatever name he is using this week)

Even my mother (94 today) and a lifelong Conservative has said she cant vote Conservative - because they are not.  i have heard similar from many of my 'Tory' mates.

I think Conservative voters are disillusioned and have a real dilemma this time round.   So many don't want what we have but vote for anything other than Conservative and we're likely to get something far worse.

Short term pain for long term gain Naomi.

And the kids need to know (and feel the pain) of a labour Government.

That's an interesting thought, YMB.

😱

Even if they could change leaders (again) at this stage, they wouldn't do it because it would only make their prospects worse. They'd look completely farcical.

another poll by redfield & winton also has the tories at 19% and reform on 17%... if something like that actually happens on july 4 then the conservative party is going to get obliterated.

i reckon there must be some people in cchq starting to panic... they can't plan for the 2029 election if they won't be around.
