Devastating Error! Help!

On thrusday evening, I made the mistake of putting my tub of ben & jerrys ice cream in the cupboard instead of back in the freezer!! :O

I know i know, i blame myself... but, do you think it'd be ok to eat? Its been out at this warm temp, up until about 3 hours ago.

I have  IBS so i'm not the sort of person that can eat anything & be fine.

Im thinking about how long food is out in buffets & people take it home after, but its usually put back in the fridge when they get home.

there is only one large portion left - & ive eaten 2 large portions - meaning the tub has only been opened twice.

What do you think?

I'm guessing that was before she didn't put it back in the freezer, Sharon ...  anyway. liquid ice cream is usually horrible, so I wouldn't. And putting it back in the freezer to refrost never seems to work. I'd be leaving this one outside to kill rats with.

You've already enjoyed two portions. No point in risking your health for another, which will be past enjoyable whether you refreeze it or eat it chilled.

Never, ever, ever refreeze ice cream. It's lethal.

It's got cream and milk in it.  I'd be too frightened to open the tub, never mind eat it.

Once it has thawed out you are NOT supposed to eat it, just throw it away.

It's a wonder it's not leaked(oozed) out of the container on its own.  🙄 👀

Whether it's still ok, or not, is ⅓ of a pot worth the risk ?

 

You could offer it to next door's cat and monitor the situation.
