If you are looking for a pain relief stronger than paracetamol what about co-codomol as that is available over the counter.

^^^ ^ 'now' not 'not'.  Grrr.....

Nobody should advise someone to take any tablets unless they know the medical history of someone and are qualified.

Sqad always suggested Ibuprofen and yet I cannot take those or codeine, even though I take Lansoprazole twice a day.

...And Peter Pedant's suggestion to take Lansoprazole is pointless, it's only available via prescription.  Other similar meds are available over the counter, but imo none of them should be taken before a GP consultation.

Meds containing codeine make me terribly constipated - doc says "Oh - take these high fibre drinks powders" but I'll be damned if I'm gonna take one thing to counteract another!

Agree with Barsel - Ibuprofen should not be taken by people who have stomach problems, heart failure, on Warfarin, etc. etc.
It is best to consult your GP.

Peter Pedant - please stop posting spurious medical advice.  Your last post, that I have removed, suggested using a drug that has been banned worldwide for several years.

oops sozza about that
