That's interesting Hymie, because in a FOI request to the ONS, the ONS said it was impossible to say how many, if any, excess deaths there were.

do you have a ref for that? - like  the actual FOI request? I thought ( but mods may think my views spurious) that excess deaths was THE most accurate way.... but as the mods point out: I cd be wrong. frequently point out

Based on the data from Sunak’s Eat Out to Help Out (EOTHO), increased Covid infections by between 8 and 17% - for the ONS to say that it was impossible to say if there were any excess deaths due to this, miraculously none of those infected as a result of EOTHO died from covid, whereas others infected with covid (not through the EOTHO scheme) did die.

Thanks for all the replies folks. Sorry for not replying sooner as I've been away. 

The main thrust of the replies seems to be about the pandemic. Not quite the last 14 years.

Someone mentioned two cheeks of the same backside, the Galloway quote which he likes to use, but we all know what comes out of one of them, and theres lots of the verbal equivalent going round isn't there? Ah well. Thanks again folks. And still Vote Labour. 😊
