Good evening, I know missing letters are not my bag of tea, but I’m sure to learn something from this one. Help would be appreciated for the following, thanks!

12a Having numbered pages folded round middle of dictionary ( 7 )

22a Catastrophe accepted by familiar Egyptian queen after couch overturned ( 7 )

24a Extra twenty-four hours disorientated Andy after spring ( 7, two words )
33a  Pleasure cut short after lout leads call to stop sea chant ( 9 )

7d John taken in by Blue Labour ( 5 )

17d Criticise gunners over rapid airborne braking device ( 9 )

PREAMBLE: Two down entries are on the BORDERLINE and clued without definition. Three other contiguous border entries are appropriate to their location. Wordplay in all other clues indicates the answer with an extra letter that is not entered in the grid; these spell out an instruction affecting 32 cells. Chambers Dictionary ( 2016 ) is recommended; 37a is in the Oxford Dictionary of English.

Many thanks, NACW, and sorry for omitting the letters I had in my haste to request answers. For 17, I have: ?O???????
And 33a: ???A??E??

17 Yo Heave Ho

33 Parachute

I hope that batch will fill your grid up a bit.

PS Did you ever go back to your Private Eye and CC puzzle threads? I think we gave you some help with those.

Many thanks, NACW! 17a YO-HEAVE-HO is one of the borderline/contiguous borders with 24a LEAP DAY. I’m not sure how or what to enter. A similar  question with 33a PARACHUTE and 5d OFFAS DYKE
I completed the Eye Crossword, but have put aside the CC puzzle for later.

Matakari, I'm sorry, but I don't understand your comment or your dilemma! All the answers I've given you are entered  normally at their numbered spots. I think you might need to read the preamble again, see where your thinking has gone wrong.

PS Glad you finished Private Eye. It's always a little bit dispiriting to see answers unacknowledged!
