Up until recently, I've never liked a dressing on my salad but I've now taken a liking to adding some honey & mustard dressing

I find that goes great with some crumbled Stilton cheese in the salad

(With Morrison's products, I actually prefer their 'regular' Stilton to their 'Finest' version, as it's got a more robust flavour).
To that I might add either some diced apple or possibly some nice ham (or even, perhaps, some rashers of crispy bacon).
I just have lots of typical salad veg with grated carrots, raw mushrooms, raw cauliflower in little florets. Must have bell pepper. Usually add pickled beetroot. Often add some chopped nuts, Nothing exotic, no seeds or things I can neither spell nor pronounce. I often make a dressing with fat free yoghurt - sort of raita.
Never thought of adding raw cauliflower 🤔
We both like honey mustard dressing, Chris, it does go well with salty cheese, I like feta as well as strong blue cheese or Roquefort.
I make potato salad with leftover spuds although warm freshly boiled would be a nice addition to a salad bowl.
Youve reminded me Sharon, I have a large pack of falafel in the freezer, and some pittas, mmmm, tomorrow nights meal sorted. Will add some mint sauce to the plain yogurt for a nice dressing with them 😋
I always add grapes too, not thought of putting mushrooms in though, add them to my list.
Let's not, since true salad is awful raw vegetation that tastes bad or/and has awful "mouth feel", and/or is difficult to keep down if daft enough to try to swallow it.
That said, there are some fake salads that are fine. Potato salad is cooked ! And smothered in mayonnaise, which, apart from being high carb, is fine. Some eating places allow you to "cherry pick" the reasonable ingredients, which apparently can include bacon bits !
Generally though, pet food is to be avoided and quickly binned if brought in near vicinity.
I'm not overly keen on salad, but if I'd make one it's usually a mix of spinach and rocket leaves, cherry tomatoes, spring onions, crumbled cheese such as feta or boursin, kalamata olives, chopped ham and salami or any cold cooked protein like chicken or salmon...prawns if I've got any in the freezer. Avocado. Homemade mayo, or extra virgin olive oil and lemon or lime juice.
Absolutely NO CUCUMBER! Horrible stuff.
