That's true. Real Madrid got to the Champions League Final in similar fashion. Man Utd won the FA Cup in similar fashion too. It seems to me that Southgate wants to get the lead in the first half, then sit back in the second. He tried that in the Euro final against Italy and it didn't work. They got away with it last night, but there was nothing about this performance that makes me think England will win the tournament. But, it's not where you start, it's where you finish. We'll see.
