I washed a sink full of dishes this morning, emptied the kitchen bin, and ran the vacuum over the carpet.

I suppose it's because I don't want her to think I usually live in squalor.

Anyone else do the same?

A bit like that, yes.

If I was a cleaner I would want things to start off mucky so I could see that I'd done a good job.

My wife did that Sandy, so I fired the cleaner.

About 4:30 one of our number announced "I've got to get away a bit early today. We've got the oven cleaner coming tomorrow."

The rest of us were somewhat puzzled (our puzzlement enhanced by the copious pints of "Crudgingtons Old & Filthy (5.2%)" we had guzzled. "How come?" I asked.

"Well" he said, "I've go to give it a bit of a bottoming. 'Er indoors said we can't have him seeing it in that state!"  🤣🤣

It's like getting fit before you join the gym!

Yes always! Clean the loo, mop the floors and hide my laundry pile!
