what would be the going rate to charge for the design of a basic website, with paypal?

they just want a simple site, with photos and information and an opportunity to purchase a couple of CDs

a nice looking site but not elaborate.

can anyone give me a general sort of price i should charge?

cheers ju5tin, need a one off fee really as it will be done in my own time, and i am a bit rusty so wouldn't want to charge by the hour.
i'd also need to give an idea of how much in advance.

never done one to order and charged proper fees before - just done them for mates and taken as long as i liked.

Joko - why not phone up three of four different website designers in your local Yellow Pages and ask them the cost (pretend you are the customer).

As silly as it may seem, a website designer in London will cost more than a designer in Cornwall.
