Power Point Deletions

When i delete a PP presentation, it doesn't go into my Recycle - does it vanish into the ether forever, or is it recoverable?

Deleting a file doesn't actually delete it. It simply designates its disk space as available for storage. Until you write something over the top of it, it's still there but you'd probably need specialist software to recover it.

The free version of Recuva can usually undelete files:

It will find all recoverable files on your hard drive (irrespective of their locations) and let you choose which ones you want to restore.

Perhaps you've saved it on onedrive?  If so, you need to go to the onedrive bin.

As long as you ain't saved/installed anything over the top of the deleted files it'll check everywhere on that disk drive. So install recovery software on, and run it from, a different disk.

Hi Chris

I have succesfully downloaded Recuva.

It gives me a huge mass of data - how can I find out which ones are my Powerpoints? They don't seem to be immediately identifiable.

Use the file mask to search for *.pptx files.  (That will find all deleted PowerPoint files).  Alternatively, use the 'Scan content' function to look for the content of a file:
