What music concerts have you been to and were they any good?

Its one of my regrets in life that I havnt been to more concerts. Only been to a handful.

Ive seen Status Quo. They were fantastic.

Alice cooper. Beyond fantastic with the stage theatrics.

Spandau Ballet. Not my cup of tea but the ex wanted to go see them when they reunited. Had a surprisingly good night.

Seen a few lesser known act from the 80's...Thunder, Quireboys etc.

A friend of mine went to a Jam concert and said they were awful live.

My favourite was when I was teaching in the middle east c.1975.Status Quo made a stopover in Bahrain on their way back from Australia (did you see them Seekeerz and Ozzy ? !! ) and the British Embassy arranged for them to come do a little gig for the kids at the school where I taught. They were a smash hit......

The best concert I've ever been to that I thought was amazing was Dr Feelgood when I was a student.

Also I know someone who paid £600 to see BTS (most famous KPop band for those who go who???) at Wembley in 2019. I would do the same if the opportunity arose.

Santana- Average

Elvis Costelloe and the attractions- ok

Mostly seen single singers

Tina Turner twice.... With my ex.... Pretty good...

k d Lang.  Only for the fans

Aretha Franklin..... Bloody amazing

Regretted not seeing the Parlotones when they played the uk.... And Neil Diamond...

Never really one for concerts,

Neil Diamond at Woburn Abbey 2nd July 1977 is the only one I've ever been to except for the opera.  ND was fantastic, as was the setting, just brilliant.  I also saw Pavrotti in Hyde Park 30th July 1991 again brilliant.

My first love is opera and my favourite place to watch it is at beautiful Glyndebourne with its stunning gardens and scenery.  I have been many times and once already this year in June which cost £250 and well worth every penny. I am going again in October which is a lot cheaper.

Been to so, so many concerts over the years. Probably the best was The Beach Boys (Manchester 1970).

Others that stand out:

Slade - far better than their Top20 genre stuff

West, Bruce and Laing - boy did they rock

Millie Jackson - gosh that girl's rude and raunchy.

Worst, by far, one of my big heros, Van Morrison - may as well have been a cardboard cutout (thank goodness for Georgie Fame on keyboards).

I saw Whitney Houston live once which was pretty good. I've seen Runrig live about 15 times.

As a teenager of the 60s the Shadows were one of my favourite groups but could never afford to see them live. We finally managed it about 20 years ago and it was a real disappointment. We'd also been to several other acts of the same era which were really good; the Hollies, Showaddywaddy and Lonnie Donegan stand out as three of the best.

Tora, 18:03. Funnily enough, I saw Meat Loaf ten years or so after you on the Bat Out of Hell 2 tour. He was utterly 💩. I was so disappointed.

Loads by the Halle Orchestra when I was in my teens.  Several by lesser-known orchestras and performers.  If you mean pop-type concerts - well I saw the Beatles on stage twice.

More up to date : the ELO the other year were good, but so loud and people kept jumping up and down in front of me and spoiling my view.  Same for an Elton John tribute last year.

I think the best gigs I've been to have been

James 2001 - superb live. All the hits.

Madness 1994 (ish) - again, but after hit. Great fun.

Billy Joel 1991/1994 - man always delivers.

Never been to a single one. When I was 14, my sister bought two tickets for a concert at our local Co-op Hall, one for me, one for her, cost 1/3 each. All her mates bought one as well but none of my mates would go, so I told her to sell it to one of her mates. And in that moment, I passed up the chance of seeing an up and coming group called The Beatles. Kismet, Hardy!

My favourite was seeing David Bowie at Milton Keynes Bowl in the 80's. China Girl was the latest hit.

Ian Dury and the Blockheads were amazing at the local university back in the day.

I saw Tina Turner at Wembley Arena; The Smiths & Eric Costello at Glastonbury; Led Zeppelin and Genesis at Knebworth; more recently Shirley Bassey, The Pet Shop Boys, and The Rolling Stones.
