Well just asking for assistance etc.  I may have found a guy who is interested in putting the outhouse with the toilet, shower, sink in it at the back of my house.  We are only corresponding by email and I hadn't heard from him for some hours so I'm after contacting him again to see if he was still interested but the guy is out working and he said he is interested and maybe next week will survey what has to be done.

I found an outhouse photo of it that I liked and some how or other was able to send the photo to him and he seems to be quite enthusiastic.  "Oh I know what you want etc".

However as this is my first time - he did say "did I have any ideas for the interiors of it.

I am asking you is there anything I should look for that could cause problems eventually - like hopefully he will turn up and we could chat about this.

Another thing propped up - I was telling my friend this afternoon what I was proposing to do you know outhouse at the back of the house and she was against it - mainly for the price of it etc.

She thinks a good idea would be to put it extending onto the driveway which some of my neighbours have done - it was another good option but some how my heart sways to the outhouse at the back.

I am not telling anybody ie siblings and so I'm afraid of making a big mistake either way.

I do want it done though cos even tho at the moment I can hardly walk with my legs and feet.

I personally think me getting this done is a good look for the future having downstairs toilet etc and remaining in my home

I know you don't know me - what do you think.

This is probably long-winded as usual

thanks for any answers

JJ - There are rules and regulations that need to be addressed when you have a WC, etc. fitted.

No builder worth his salt would cobble together something like you are suggesting. They would take your money and leave you with something that probably wouldn't work properly, possibly leave you open to legal action and could devalue your property.

You need to think, more sensibly where you could have one installed somewhere downstairs......inside your house.

JJ, I have mentioned a stair lift a few times on your threads and now others are suggesting it.

Why are you so against it?  It is the cheapest and probably the most sensible option.

barry could you give me a link of the stair  businesss.   You must remembe I suffer, IBS, DIVERTICULITIES, AND THE START OF CROHNS SO BY THE THE TIME YOU USE THE STAIR BUSINESS YOU SURELY WOULD HAVE SOILED YOURSELF.  THAT IS WHAT I AM DREADING

How quickly do you manage to get up the stairs now?

Have you been in touch with Adult Social Care through your council?  They may be able to assess your needs and your home and make suggestions for adaptions and recommend companies.  You may be entitled to financial help

stair lift would be too slow as I have the other ailments and don't think I would make it time

dont know what is wrong this morning with coal black filthy bedding - have had to strip the bed but luckily enough bed well covered = just have to strip all bedclothes and nightwear.  never heard of this before - never before - so stairlift wouldht be quickenough.

Anyway I havent heard  from builder as he probably knows he is not interested in the driveway scenario - so that's the end of him##

there are are a few more other traders but am afraid of them all.  don't knw wht to do [-   sorry for typing - just up.  Thanks for listening everybody.

Get in touch with Adult Social Care.  They will have come across your situation many times and may have solutions that we can't think of.

As a toilet is your priority reconsider having one under the stairs.  You can get toilets with a hand basin on the cistern to save space, it empties in to the cistern.

Or you could turn a spare bedroom in to your living room, with a kettle for hot drinks so you spend less time downstairs.

Jj...have you had an actual diagnosis?

Try age concern concern.  They helped my brother in law to convert a downstairs room into a wetroom and they paid two thirds of the cost and recommended the buliders.

It's now ageuk ^^^^

JJ Sorry to get personal and there is no need to answer. Re your bedding, did the doctor put you on iron? This can cause constipation or diarrhoea and your stool can be very black and sticky. Please don't take offence but sometimes these pills/liquid cause lack of control. If this is the case Tena has pads, slips or pads for the bed.

Good morning,

have you considered having a small extension built, like a large closed in porch on either your front or back door?

You could then add a toilet there.

My mother did just that and now as a lovely downstairs loo.
