Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

A nicely chewy puzzle, which was a good workout, for which thanks, Agricola. But a very well-worn theme. Are there not some unexplored cultural backwaters we could mine?

I've thought a lot about what the final solution for this one might be. I think there are three possible candidates depending on whether you put most weight on the theme, the preamble wording or the overall neatness. I think I'm going for the theme, but I suspect there will be quite a few wrong entries (possibly me included). Thanks Agricola - it made me think!

I agree, HawkCrossword. I've spent seemingly more time on the final adjustment than the rest of the puzzle! Unless there's something I'm missing it's far from clear cut as to which letter to place in that cell.

Thanks, Agricola. An entertaining puzzle but for that nagging doubt at the end.

Not many contributors this week. Are you all wondering like me how changing just one grid letter can present a solution? And has anyone got the 'king or queen' bit?

We completed the gridfill quite quickly but struggled with the endgame.
Some people seem to suggest that there are several possible interpretations for the instructions so we will wait for the published solution.
