Your contract with Beresford's, to manage the property on your behalf, should be entirely separate to any contract to try to sell the property for you. Unless there's a specific provision within the management contract, relating to its early termination on the grounds that you'll be selling up, I can't see why you can't simply terminate the management contract and then sell directly to the tenant (without any involvement whatsoever from Beresford's or from any other estate agency).
I can no reason why you'd need the services of an estate agent to sell the property anyway. (I've sold two houses but I've never used an estate agent).
