Memory Metal
4 Answers
I've seen some adverts for spectacles made from this. The idea is that, if you sit on your specs and damage the frame, the metal will return to its original shape. When I've had new specs that needed a slight adjustment to fit properly, the opticians have simply bent the frame a bit. How can you alter the shape of this memory metal? Or does the optician keep having to make a new frame until one fits properly?

Basically, I used to glaze frames and memory metal CAN be manipulated with heat and very precise twisting - the optical dispenser should make sure the size of the frame already fits the patient so as not much manipulation is needed. I used to put my customers off of these frames as personally I think they are B%ll$hit!
