A month ago my bf was attacked by bouncers, we reported it to the police and were in for 3 hours giving statements, this was 3 weeks ago! They told us they would interview the bouncers and get back to us. We heard nothing so rang police station saturday and was told someone would ring lastnight, they didnt! Rang the police station again and they could answer none of our questions i.e.have the bouncers been interviewed and what is the outcome. They said an officer will ring within the next 3 days! I understand they have emergencies to deal with but you would think we would have had a call. What do you think...anything we can do??
Was your bf injured? Did he have expenses resulting from this, eg loss of earnings, medical expenses, damage to clothing etc. If so write to the place where the bouncers work stating that the matter is in the hands of the police (which it is even though nothing much has happened) and asking for compensation.
However be sure that the bf did not provoke the incident by being drunk and disorderly as that would lessen your case.
He wasnt drunk! it was all over being short changed, my bf asked for it back, got it, sat down then 20 minutes later 2 councers dragged him out!
No loss of earnings etc but got bad back and neck and bruises to the neck!
What you need to do is get a CICA form from the Police Station. Fill it in and send it to the Criminal Injury Compensation Aurthority. Or you couold use a Solicitor but they would take a percentage of his damages.
Any defence that they bouncers will have are ejecting your boyfriend from the club using any force that they felt necessary. Bouncers have the power to do this sadly and complaint your boyfriend may have probably wont go anywhere!
It wont cost you anything, just get a CICA form from the Police Station. FIll it in if they wont deal with it they wont, but they just might and keep the photo
