hen night alternatives needed got 1 week to plan

my friend is getting married shortly and has had to cancel her hen night because of lack of funds - want to do something nice for her but not really going out on the town - any cheap alternatives? or fun ideas?

nothing rude or silly please this is serious

What about having an american style wedding shower at home? Basically it's a girls night in and all her friends bring her a small gift, nail varnish, naughty undies, chocolate, champagne, garter, perfume, etc.
We don't do it here but I've always thought it was a nice fun thing to do and you could do it really inexpensively. Couple of bottles of wine and some pizza from the supermarket maybe.

I've been trying to get my friend to have a Sex & The City hen party in New York - no hope there I suppose! So how about one at home - dress up your party dresses and silly heels and make Cosmopolitans - (vodka, cointreau, cranberry juice and lime) and if you can face it, talk about men!
