A quick google shows that there are an estimate 5 million odd vehicles on the UK roads without a valid MOT, around half a million with no tax, and 300,000 with no insurance. Plod has his work cut out catching this lot. The typical fine for not having a valid MOT is £100, it might be cheaper to risk the fine than make alternative arrangements (car hire, taxis etc).

What about other things - for example driving with only one number plate light working ?

it should be a hanging offence🤣

NJ, "If you are stopped by the police and found with illegal tyres, you could receive a £2,500 fine and 3 penalty points per tyre."

"If you are stopped by the police and found with illegal tyres, you could receive a £2,500 fine and 3 penalty points per tyre."

There is no possibility of that unless a court acted unlawfully, Corby. It is as clear as crystal. That statement by the Highways Agency is incorrect.

That statement by tehHighways Agency is incorrect, Corbyis incorrect Corby, please see the continuation
