I went to a wake of a sister  of a friend of mine on Tuesday  Many years ago I had met her and she told me she had great difficulty of giving up 60 cigarettes a day - she found it so hard.

Anyway there she was laid out in the coffin with a vape under arm

A vape under her arm?? Surely not lol.

😂

There may be a queue at the gates, give her something to do.

You shouldn't speak ill of the dead.

I think your definition of 'speak ill' may be different to others.

I just don't find making fun of dead people, funny.

winner - I don't find it funny either and it wasn't meant to be funny - it actually made me very sad that she had had such a hard time trying to give up the cigarettes that she was remembered for the vaping.  My heart went out to her for that struggle.  Her husband did say to me her lungs gave out.

My granny said that she didn't give up cigarettes; cigarettes gave her up.

I'm sure the vape in the coffin raised a smile. No one would have been making fun.

When I spoke at my sisters' funeral, I spoke about the funny things she did, without realising they were funny, e.g., she hated travel in any form, buses, cars, taxis, trains etc. No way. So it was all her husband could do one time to pursuade her to go to the Lake District with him.

It's ok, he said. I'll take my time and drive carefully. You just read the map. And there folks, was his big mistake. The map was one of those Esso ones that folded up. Anyway, after tootling round the Lakes for some time he said, where are we now? We can't be far away. No, she said, I'm just looking for this Berland, not seen a sign for it yet. Where? Berland? Berland?! Let me see that map. He opened it out and said, you berk! It's Cumberland, not Berland! That brought a good laugh from everyone and is one of my fond memories of her. I still miss her. We played together as children, went everywhere together. Rest her soul.

The Coop biker funeral advert amuses me.

"All he ever talked about was bike this, bike that.."

(He musta been a boring beggar!)
