School Transfer
I need to transfer my daughter to a new school, due to bullying issues. We have had meetings in the school and the police are involved. After a meeting today, i cannot see any other option but to get my daughter to another school and quickly. Anybody, ever done this? How long did it take, did you by pass any procedures to ensure transfer was done quickly? My daughter's safety is an issue.( she's 13 yrs old, the bullies 15 & 16).

You can simply call the school you wish your daughter to transfer to and arrange a meeting with the Head (could me a senior member of staff sometimes) and ask the Police to speak with them as well. You could contact the LEA and ask if it is possible to keep your child at home until this is done and to arrange with the school to have work sent home until the transfer is complete. In fact if the situation is that bad, the LEA may well advise this and can in theory order another school to take your daughter ASAP.
Sorry to hear your daughter is being bullied. I was bullied at school and sometimes you wish you had a magic wand so they can see that in a lot of cases bullying stops when they leave school and in a few years time these people will not be in her life. Good Luck.

Thanks Mrs_Pegasus. Anything is worth a try. Its funny, all i seem to get from the school is "we can't wave a magic wand...."! The school iwant her to go to, apparently is over subscribed, but under certain circumstances they can, as you say, be forced to take her on. I just need to know what the "certain circumstances" are. The threats she has had include stabbing and setting on fire! lovely isn''t it.
