A genuine  question. Why won't people give the name of the quiz; the closing date and the actual number of the quiz question? I really like to help if I can but it isn't easy

Your guess is as good as mine

The question is still the same with, or without, that information.

Annoys me as well.

I don't mind as long as I have the number of letters and the theme, if there is one

I am always reminding people to do that and to follow the Answerbank guidelines. I think it is polite to thank people as well.

So they can get answers before answerers are aware of which quiz it is, especially "no asking" quizzes.

Or perhaps I am too cynical?

Thank you all for your comments. It's just that I want to help if I am doing the quiz and if folk give these details it makes it easier. I have a lot of quizzes on the go at one time as it is my main hobby at the moment as my mobilty is restricted

Maybe because they ask when the quiz has been out for less than a week and it's 3 months until the closing date.

I agree totally with Madgeorge and Gill but also I think some people are too lazy to be bothered giving more details!!! They all annoy me and -yes Bluebell - people are very rude not to give thanks.  Off with their heads!!!!!

Yes, I frown on lack of thanks.  And I especially dislike TIA, having suffered one myself which permanently lost me  my driving licence.

.

I also dislike the practice of asking a group of questions on one post then adding several posts later with, for example, four at a time on each post.

Ask all your questions at once, at least we will know who is stupid or just lazy!

I also don't like it when people do not acknowledge an answer especially if I have spent ages searching for it

Perfect example of what I am talking about in the next question after this one in the quizzes and puzzles section......kettering samaritans quiz!

Totally agree with that too Madgeorge!!!! You must have noticed it's the same people who ask on a regular basis for loads of the answers.  I don't know why they bother.  If I can't manage under my own steam I just wouldn't bother.  If all else fails, I send the quiz in with blanks (but not half a dozen blanks LOL).  Another annoying thing, people don't try the search box before asking to see if it's been asked before.  We could go on forever with this subject or should we just get a life?!!!!!!

I don't mind folk asking questions, gives me something to puzzle over.

I also know how maddening it is to not be able to work the answer out. That can keep me awake at night.

The more the merrier, it's easy enough to ignore posts.

I don't mind people asking for help for the odd question, that is the point of Answerbank.

Like everything else in life, it is the people who abuse the system who are really annoying (and who get stroppy when you gently point out they are taking liberties)

I KNOW you can ask if you want to (even on "no asking quizzes") but do you have no conscience about doing so?

If you need to ask 70% of a quiz, is quizzing really for you?
