Insurance never is free, but can be referred to such because when you claim you aren't informed that you need to pay for it all yourself. It is free after you have paid your subs.

//Do you want people to get free everything//

And where have I said that?

We already pay for much of this in our taxes.  Do you get a certificate for your medication bednobs to get them at a lower rate.  I know a number of people that do.

An area that should be looked at is just how important the prescription is. A friend has somehow managed to get her indigestion tablets free.

Many items that you used to get on prescription we now have to buy anyway at our surgery.

Lines need to be drawn. If the prescription is deemed necessary then it should be free.  But if the answer is a cheap purchase that is seen by most as a normal purchase for an individual, then no prescription should be given. Merely advice.

yes ymb, like i (think) i said, people of working age should pay for their prescriptions.  If they are on a low wage, they are on a low wage whether they are 20 or 60. your arguement appears to be that some people who are 60 might have knackered bodies.  my point is that so migh other people, who are already paying for their prescriptions.

yes shedman, i havehad a prepayment certificate every year since my 20s

What about all the lazy scrotes who dont work who get free prescriptions?

but that's not what this q is about. 60-65 year olds can be lazy scrotes on benefits too!

A pensioner must have upset her big time at some point in her life.

yeah her gran wanted a regular bottle of Broon, Mackeson, or IPA, and if she forgot she got a kicking
